An early 19th-century antebellum mansion set in 26 acres of manicured gardens. Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens is a National Historic Landmark in Natchez, Mississippi. With an ambiance reminiscent of a bygone age, the rooms and suites are as perfect as a picture for your stay in Natchez, Mississippi. Available either in the main house or in any of the seven outbuildings, all rooms have period furnishings and/or antebellum-era reproductions. All guest rooms have private baths, and some rooms and suites include a spa tub and an operating fireplace.

Wander around the meticulously nurtured gardens amidst blooming magnolias, roses, azaleas, and Monmouth’s signature collection of angel statuary, accompanied by the gentle humming of cicadas. If you'd like to dine outdoors, you're welcome to enjoy your breakfast on the Garden Room's covered patio! We offer a casual dinner menu in the Quitman Lounge and Study every day. If you'd like something more upscale, consider dining in our luxury Restaurant 1818. Here, you'll be served dinner in the original Men's and Ladies’ Parlors of the Main House. When you dine at Restaurant 1818, you have complete dining freedom. Enjoy items on an a la carte basis from our gourmet appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts. We also provide a full wine list and wine by the glass program to ensure your dining experience is the very best Natchez has to offer!

If you'd like something more private, we can arrange in-room dining or private dining by candlelight for 8 to 12 people at the main dining room table. This room exemplifies the elegant dining experience which has been customary since the days of John and Eliza Quitman.

Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens is celebrating its 200th birthday this year! Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens was built by Mr. and Mrs. John Hankinson built-in 1818, who, with their family, lived in the home until 1826. The Inn's most prominent owners were John and Eliza Quitman's family from 1826 to 1919. John Quitman was a military general family and two-term Mississippi governor.
