See & Do
The Dahlonega Gold Museum, one of Georgia’s oldest standing courthouse buildings, is a sentinel reminder of the spirit of America’s first major gold rush
Hike atop Georgia's highest mountain at 4,784 feet above sea level
Dukes Creek Falls Trail is a great place to hike through multiple waterfalls and wooded forest
Nestled in the mountains of North Georgia's beautiful countryside, the Ava House Bed & Breakfast is your home away from home. With over 6,000 square feet of space, the home is located one hour from Atlanta and only minutes away from Historic Downtown Dahlonega. Our unique location and amenities make us one of the best bed and breakfasts in Georgia.
Restaurants & bars, waterfalls, hiking trails, antique shops, and some of the best Georgia wineries are all nearby. In 1828, Dahlonega was the site for the first major Gold Rush in the United States and in July of 2018, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) designated the “Dahlonega Wine Plateau” as the newest viticultural area in the United States. The Ava House is just a short drive to other "must-see" towns such as Helen, Blue Ridge, and Ellijay.
Perfectly situated on two acres surrounded by gardens and hundred-year-old oak trees, the home is a replica of an 1890 Farmhouse furnished in romantic-farmhouse decor with fireplaces throughout the house. Five spacious and elegant rooms all with private bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, and fine OXFORD bed linens. Guest bathrooms come equipped with NIRVANA Towels and Beekman 1802 bath amenities.
The home is the perfect setting for couples' getaways, girlfriends' weekend trips, and bridal groups to get ready the day of the wedding. Enjoy a gourmet breakfast served daily in the main dining room or porch side and unwind every afternoon with our social hour serving beverages and hors d'oeuvres. Special diet requirements can be accommodated. Other amenities include complimentary parking, wireless internet available in public areas and guest rooms, plus snacks and beverages served throughout the day.
Board games and a variety of reading materials are available in the library. Packages: Winery, Brewery, and Waterfall tours as well as romance, wedding engagements, and girlfriends getaways. Please visit our website or call us for a list of recommendations. We look forward to welcoming you!
