The Best Lake Huron Beaches in Oscoda

The charming town of Oscoda is a fantastic place to visit this summer. There are more than 20 miles of Lake Huron beaches to enjoy in the Oscoda area, which gives visitors plenty of space to spread out and avoid overly crowded beach scenarios you might find in other popular summer vacation destinations.

The Lake Huron beaches near Oscoda are famous for their sunrises. In fact, this side of the state is often referred to as "The Sunrise Side of the State." These beautiful Lake Huron beaches offer the perfect place to enjoy the quiet hours of the early morning, sipping a cup of coffee and contemplating the world before most of it has woken up for the day. Once the sun is up, though, they offer an entirely new way to have some fun.

As you get ready to plan your adventures for the summer, here are some of the best Lake Huron beaches to consider:

1. Oscoda Beach Park

Oscoda Beach Park is known locally as the "jewel of Oscoda," and one visit here is all it will take to see why. This is arguably one of the best Lake Huron beaches you'll visit. A variety of amenities make spending a day here easy, including a boardwalk and a pier. But the beach here is just gorgeous, and the entry into the lake is sloped and shallow, making it a great place to play in the water.

2. Huron Sunrise Park

The shoreline at Huron Sunrise Park seems endless, and that's what makes it one of our favorite Lake Huron beaches. With 2,600 feet of shoreline, this is a fantastic place to avoid the crowds and enjoy a sunrise.

3. Au Sable Shoreline Park

Where the Au Sable River meets Lake Huron, you'll find another one of our favorite Lake Huron beaches. Au Sable Shoreline Park is a great place to spend a day, especially if you love birdwatching. Part of the Sunrise Coast Birding Trail is found here in the park, and it's also a great place to launch a kayak.

4. Van Etten Beach Park

Though not technically one of the Lake Huron beaches, we couldn't write this without including the fabulous Van Etten Beach Park at Van Etten Lake. It's a quiet, calm, and beautiful place to spend a day!

Of course, though these Lake Huron beaches are delightful and worth visiting, there's also a private stretch of beach for guests at our Select Registry Bed and Breakfast to enjoy - just one more perk of making this incredible Michigan Bed and Breakfast your home away from home!

As fantastic as these beautiful Lake Huron beaches are, though, they really are just one of the many great things to do in Oscoda.
