My spouse and I just got home from a spectacular few days at the Andon-Reid Inn, and we were literally blown-away by the experience. The instant we arrived (late!), Brenda and Peter rushed up to greet us and made us feel like family. This historic (1902) inn is immaculately clean, filled with all the modern amenities, and the hosts’ attention to detail is obvious throughout the property. The grounds are perfectly groomed, the views of Waynesville and the forested mountains breathtaking, and the inn’s furnishings made us feel warm and welcome. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which was spacious yet cozy, comfortable, and with gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We made good use of the large jetted tub and huge shower. Every morning we were met with a two-course gourmet breakfast, a literal culinary delight (strawberry French toast with cream cheese, blueberry pierogies with lemon cream, crispy smoked bacon and sausages). Every afternoon there were fresh-baked cookies or brownies! The Andon-Reid Inn is the perfect base for exploring downtown Waynesville, the nearby Smoky Mountains, or the Biltmore Estate. We’ll be back – again and again; we’ve found our perfect home away from home.

We have stayed at the inn several times and each of our stays has been memorable. Brenda and Peter have made the inn comfortable and welcoming. We had the chestnut room which is spacious, but my favorite spot is the front porch or the Adirondack chairs overlooking the mountains. Each morning is different and absolutely delicious. there are some wonderful restaurants in Waynesville so this could be an immersive culinary experience!

The hosts, Brenda and Peter, provided very personal excellent service. The breakfasts were incredible. We stayed four nights and were served a unique and delicious two course meal each morning. We’ve seen a few different owners, but I’m happy to say that Brenda and Peter have maintained the high standards that we admire and appreciate. The food (breakfast and treats) is fantastic, the hospitality is top notch (perfect blend of privacy but also friendliness and availability), and the house itself is lovely. We enjoyed the large game room and also working on a jigsaw puzzle in the evening. Waynesville has grown a lot over the years, offering a variety of great restaurants and fun shopping. It’s also an easy drive to Asheville, hiking, and many other experiences. We look forward to coming back to Andon-Reid again! Thank you, Peter and Brenda!

MAGNOLIA "SWEET" We just concluded a 5-day/4 night stay at the Andon-Reid bed and breakfast, staying in the Magnolia Suite room. Being ay the Andin Reid was a wonderful, comforting and uplifting experience in every way imaginable. The innkeepers are very attentive to your needs and so organized; nothing was left undone. They immediately want you to feel comfortable in the home. They are available at any time for any reason you may need them, but are never overbearing. The Magnolia Suite itself is very spacious and beautiful, with high ceilings, and had an enclosed private porch. Between the porch and the room there must have been 14 or 15 large windows letting in beautiful light. It is on the 2nd floor, so even with blinds open it feels private. Everything was in place for your comfort, from ceiling fans to AC to noise machines, fantastic shower, fireplace in season, and had a wet bar with Keurig machine. The room and the house was quiet. Although we went to beautiful places every day we still couldn't wait to come back to the Magnolia Suite at end if day. You could see either trees or a mountain view out of the windows. One direction also showed an elementary school with a mountain behind it. We loved sitting in the porch with our morning coffee as well as in the evening with Brenda's baked treat of the day and a cup of tea. The house is located in a neighborhood within the town of Waynesville, it is not rural or out in the middle of the mountains but it does have the mountain views that are lovely as seen from the enclosed porch. The town's Main Street offers so many unique stores and boutiques as well as tasty and affordable restaurants for lunch or dinner. The breakfast of course is at the inn. The meals were created by Peter and so graciously prepared and served by both he and Brenda .They were plentiful, delicious, creative and varied across the four mornings that we ate there. They always included a healthy and generous portion of fruit, and also a protein. The entree alternated daily from the sweet-ish to the more savory. The table settings and ambiance were lovely, with relaxing music and a fire in the fireplace. With the 830 start you are able to be finished and on your way at an early enough hour. We felt the location for getting to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway was very convenient. We enjoyed every place we traveled to on this trip but the Blue Ridge Parkway was probably our favorite. On the BRP you avoid the crowds of the National Park, yet you have absolutely beautiful vistas, interesting visitor centers, and an art gallery right on the parkway. We only scratched the surface in tjis part of NC. We can't wait to come back, and when we do we will surely book the Andon Reid again. It is a Select Registry Inn for a reason.
