I drove up with friends from the DC area and stayed here for a wedding and it was such a wonderful experience! The house was perfect because we were all able to stay together before the wedding, and it was only about a 10-minute walk from the venue, which made everything incredibly convenient for us out-of-towners. Sharon and Chris have clearly put so much thought and care into every detail to make guests feel comfortable, and it absolutely shows. This was my first time staying at a B&B, and I was so impressed by their hospitality. The breakfast they prepared in the morning was so delicious, made with fresh ingredients from their garden and the local farmers market down the street. While chatting with Sharon, I learned more about the history of the building and all the work she and her husband have put into creating such a special place. After hearing their story and experiencing their hospitality firsthand, it's clear why they've earned so many hospitality awards. I feel lucky to have come across this place and would absolutely stay here again!

Sharon and Chris are truly exceptional innkeepers—warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The location is perfect—close to Gettysburg and all the surrounding historic sites, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Breakfast each morning was outstanding, but the highlight was the Huevos Rancheros made with Chris’s home-smoked pulled pork—absolutely delicious and something we’re still talking about! The rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and the common areas are just as impressive—elegant, inviting, and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We’ll definitely be back!

My partner and I had a wonderful experience at George's on York this past weekend. We were in town for a wedding and were blown away by the level of service and hospitality we received. Chris and Sharon were communicative throughout the check-in process, making sure we had all of the information we needed about parking, timelines...etc. We stayed in the Elizabeth room and loved reading about the history of the building and its occupants. Visitors should not expect a 'modern,' hotel with sweeping amenities like you'd have at a chain, but instead a beautiful, quaint taste of history with two very passionate owners. The absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast; Chris and Sharon generously accommodated our timing and served an incredible spread of egg casserole, baked cinnamon peaches, homemade cornbread...etc. The attention to detail in this B&B is beyond anything I've experienced before. We hope to return some day, and would recommend George's on York to anyone looking for a home-away-from-home experience!

My wife and I decided to stay at George’s on York for a wedding that we were attending in town. Upon arriving we were greeted by Chris and Sharon at the door and welcoming us in. We truly felt like more than guests. Sharon gave us a tour of the inn and showed us all the common areas. After the tour she showed us to our beautifully decorated room. They have complementary sweet treats and drinks available in the common use kitchenette. The common areas are available the whole time during your stay and for you to use at your leisure. After the wedding we were obviously very tired and the room was so relaxing and comfortable. We stayed in the Dr. George Motter Suite. In the morning we made our way down to the dining room where Chris and Sharon welcomed us in for breakfast. While we waited for our first dish, they had freshly brewed coffee available which was delicious. Sharon brought out the first dish, a beautiful Honeydew Sorbet with a lemon drizzle. I took a bite, looked my wife in the eyes, and said “this is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted.” After the first dish, Chris brought out a beautifully made French toast and sausages links. Every thing was perfect, well plated, and I finished breakfast very satisfied. The Honeydew was fresh from their garden on the property. The sausage links were from the local butcher right down the street. The inn has private parking for their guests in the rear of the inn. Very easy to get in and out of. At checkout, we asked Chris and Sharon about the history of the inn and they were more than happy to tell me. Chris and Sharon- we had an amazing time and we hope to be back in the future!
