There are not enough positive adjectives to fully describe the Swift House Inn and Jessica's Restaurant. The beautiful property is central to Middlebury, a perfect exemplification of a Vermont college town...shops, dining options, and access to the cultural amenities of the college are all reasons enough to go. But why would you even step off the property? The rooms are updated and comfortable, the amenities are endless, and the dining experience is matchless. Caring, attentive staff and friendly yet not overbearing concern for your wellbeing are elements that are often overlooked by other upscale destinations. Not here- everything about Swift House exudes charm and thoughtful attention to your every needs. There is no better option for a stay in the North Country. This is our second time staying at the Swift House and it is always a wonderful experience. The rooms are lovely, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms nice. The breakfast is delicious, and Jessica’s is so good. The bar is also great - it has an old school vibe. We came with our 10 month old baby and they were very accommodating, setting up a pack and play in our room and a high chair for breakfast. One of the owners, Matthew, was very friendly told us about all of the art throughout the inn. I highly recommend the Swift House. We will definitely be back!

Our only issue was that we were staying in the Alexander Twilight room, which faces the highway. We heard traffic from semi’s and snow plows all night. The Swift House Inn is a beautiful, well appointed, exceptionally maintained B&B in the heart of Middlebury. The staff is wonderful. Our only issue was that we were staying in the Alexander Twilight room, which faces the highway. We heard traffic from semi’s and snow plows all night. There was a respite from about 2am to 5am but otherwise it was loud. The room is maybe 20-50 yards from the highway. I tried putting in my AirPods but they aren’t great for sleeping. My husband and I are not light sleepers at all, but we were both miserable. So after two terrible nights sleep I can say I highly recommend this inn, just not that room unless you can sleep through anything!

When we visit Middlebury in the future we will definitely look to stay there. Keep in mind the breakfast they offer for staying there is absolutely phenomenal. Don't make you as much food as you want and whatever you want. The staff bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable. We had an amazing server named Bager who took care of us each day. Wow you made us feel at home even while away.

This was our second time at the Swift House and it’s always a treat. The rooms, the restaurant, and the bar are all fantastic. There is a gym, sauna and steam room. The complementary breakfast is delicious, and Jessica’s is phenomenal. I’d definitely recommend, and we will be coming back!
