The Basics

SELECT REGISTRY MEMBER SINCE 2023

Originally constructed in 1790 for the Cuthbert Family, this antebellum-style home served as a residence during the summer social season. While welcoming visits from other prominent families and political figures, their refreshing retreat along the bay was perfectly situated to capture cool, gentle coastal breezes. Over time, the home has been lovingly preserved and meticulously restored into the grand, historic inn it is today.

Guest Reviews

The staff at this well appointed and beautifully restored B&B were amazing. From the second my husband and I arrived we felt at home and truly cared for. Karen is the concierge but she wears many hats. Most importantly she makes you feel at home and that your comfort and happiness truly matter to her. This was a trip to celebrate my husbands birthday and a bottle of champagne...See More

Wow, what a surprise. Our stay at Cuthbert House was fantastic. The house is beautifully renovated with upscale decor but doesn’t spoil the charm and history of this special place. Our room was beautifully appointed with a great view of the Beaufort Bay. Breakfast was not typical either. It was prepared by a professional chef and was delightful. Another surprise was the 5:pm cocktail hour with more prepared goodies...See More

Suzanne and Chris (the owners) have impeccable taste and every detail of their recently renovated establishment was pitch perfect. Beyond the building itself the people really made the stay memorable. Everyone (especially Matt and Karen) went out of their way to make us feel at home and truly special. They thought of...See More

I just returned from the most lovely stay at the Cuthbert House! From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. The owners, Suzanne & Chris, and staff were warm and welcoming, and their beautiful property was newly renovated and gorgeous. Our room was perfection-spacious, full of light with a plush bed and fantastic bathroom. Breakfast was delicious including French press coffee. The attention to detail...See More
