We've stayed here once we've eaten here a few times. It is definitely a full-on luxury boutique inn. During peak season it can be very expensive at times upwards of $600 a night. We've stayed here once we've eaten here a few times. It is definitely a full-on luxury boutique inn. During peak season it can be very expensive at times upwards of $600 a night. Most of the time the prices are closer to half that. Now several months ago, they had a fire in the kitchen which didn't cost too much damage but the fire suppression system certainly did. They had to literally strip everything down to the walls remove all of the carpeting replace all of the wallpaper so the place looks absolutely brand new again. There's been a fire about 20 years ago it's leveled the building and they rebuilt it, having a very quaint exterior but very modern very luxurious interior. Without a doubt probably the most luxurious inn in all of the Jackson area. Now this particular time that we were there the food was an issue. During the closing they lost most of their kitchen staff. It was pretty evident that the tenderloin that I had was not completely prepared in house but was bought grill marked from a vendor such as Sysco. Basically you're buying a slightly prepared piece of high-end meat and then you finish it off in your kitchen. Is for medium rare it came out Beyond well done. At this point my appetite was kind of gone. They insisted on bringing out another piece that looked almost identical, that's how I can tell this is pre-portioned. I'm in the food service business so I know these things. It was better than the first piece it was medium rare instead of well beyond well done. Unfortunately it had the consistency of a piece of steak that had been Frozen thawed and then fast recooked. The surprising disappointment for what I consider one of the finest dining restaurants in the greater Jackson area. I was hoping in this instance that they would have either reduced the price or even comp the meal. They did not. I was disappointed in that. If we made blunders like that we would definitely have comped the meal. We definitely will consider staying there again but I don't know whether we'll eat there. We've had far better culinary luck over at the Wentworth inn.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay here in May. I was coming off of a stressful time at work and this was exactly what I needed. We were greeted by the kind woman at the desk who gave us each a glass of Prosecco. So nice! From there we went to our spacious room that was comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was also great with an amazing tub! That night we ate there in the bar area and it was very good. Each morning we had their truly delicious complimentary breakfast. The first day we went on a hike nearby and came back to find snacks in the lounge area. This included some of the best iced tea I’ve ever had. In the evening they bring a tray to your room with relaxing tea and cookies. Such a treat!
The beautiful wrap around porch was perfect for looking at the mountain view or reading a book. The staff was all very kind and attentive and the inn keeper seemed to always be there when we needed her! It was such a relaxing weekend. My only feedback would be that we wished the bar and restaurant menus had some more options - they were limited. But that did take away from the stay. It was magical!
