My wife reports that it was the best Hotel experience that she has ever had. The John Rutledge House Inn is in the center of the Historical District of Charleston. The Inn has a parking lot at the rear. We never moved the car once we were there. We were able to walk everywhere. We stayed in the Carriage House at the rear of the property. (We travel with a Australian Shepard) The accommodations exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The daily breakfast was gourmet and a real treat. My wife enjoyed the afternoon Tea at 4:00 PM. Our room was cleaned daily along with the delivery of fresh towels. The Inn Keeper was Nicki Johnson. We met her on our first day when she delivered our breakfast. She worked hard to insure our stay was perfect. I watched her go to a vacant room carrying a small duffle bag. I asked her where was she off to and she told me that once a vacant room was cleaned she did an inspection to insure that it was done right. You don’t see that very often. We could not be more pleased and will return next year!

It's rare to find this level of service these days! Breakfast is made to order, served in the location of your choice. We enjoyed spending time in the courtyard. The bed was comfy and luxurious and the staff superb.
