Oct 10, 2026: Another great stay at Pettigru Place. Lori, Randi, and the entire staff go above and beyond to make your stay so very enjoyable. The food is amazing! The conversation at breakfast is always fun and interesting. The wine and cheese tray in the evening is a great chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful garden. Not only is this a great place to spend a relaxing romantic weekend, it's also perfect for attending an event at Bon Secours, the Greenville theater, or the Peace Center. As a bonus we stumbled into the "Fall for Greenville" festival which added live music and great food options to our stay. We can't wait to return! If you're reading the reviews, know that it's an easy .5 mile walk to Main Street, an even easier .25 mile walk to Bon Secours (you will be back in your room after the event before most people get to their car!), and yes, the tv in the room will not have a huge screen.....but IMHO if you're concerned about the size of the TV screen you'd be better off at a local hotel. If instead you prefer to relax in a beautiful home, enjoy an amazing breakfast, and feel spoiled by the unending service of a staff that truly cares, then check this place out!
Oct 16, 2025: Our second stay at Pettigru Place may have even surpassed the level of awesome we experienced on our first! We are working our way through a very difficult season in our lives and we weren't even sure we would make the trip until the morning of our check in day. The stars aligned and allowed us to escape for an evening. Throughout the uncertain process Lori and Randi were simply awesome. They were thoughtful, understanding, caring, and willing to help. We wound up having to limit our stay to one evening, and on our way to Greenville we learned that the concert we were going to see was cancelled. Although bummed about the concert we now consider it a blessing in disguise. My wife really needed a distraction, and without the logistics of the concert we were able to completely enjoy an evening at Pettigru Place! We enjoyed wine/beer/tea with a fruit and cheese platter in the beautiful garden. We relaxed in the comfy room. We soaked in the clawfoot tub and enjoyed a hot shower with water pressure I can only dream of back home. We sat on our lovely private balcony with a cup of coffee and chatted in the cool of the evening, allowing us to calmly discuss the challenges we would face after checkout. As usual breakfast was delicious. I didn't know I wanted Bloody Mary Eggs until they served them! Great food and great company set us up for a challenging day and we left refreshed, revitalized, and.....FULL! LOL
As we worked out the details of our shortened stay and learned that the concert was cancelled Randi assured us they would take great care of us and we would have a memorable evening and thanks to her, Lori, and Suzy that's exactly what we had. One relaxing night at Pettigru Place turned out to be just the respite needed. We look forward to returning soon under more favorable circumstances, but will will be forever thankful for the caring staff that made our stay so enjoyable!
Our first stay at Pettigru Place will be one of many. Everything about this B&B is great! We parked in a reserved space and were greeted warmly, given a tour, and shown our room. During our stay we were able to see all but one of the rooms and they were all great. We stayed in the Rosemunde which was comfy and had a great soaking tub and a shower with water pressure I wanted to take home with me! The bed was very comfortable. Our hostesses could not have been any nicer! We enjoyed our bowl of homemade cookies with a nice cup of coffee from the station available 24/7 along with tea, soda, and bottled waters. The breakfasts were amazing.....absolutely delicious and beautifully plated they were a treat for the eyes and the taste buds! In the afternoon they serve wine/ale/tea and a fruit and cheese plate. We enjoyed ours in the gazebo located in the beautiful garden. I can't think of any way our stay could've been any better!
This is no exaggeration, the best hotel experience I have had in my entire life. The entire staff are amazing, accommodating, and genuinely wonderful people - from booking assistance to ensuring you're comfortable to just greeting you with a smile every morning. But my gosh, the breakfasts they serve are on another plane of existence. Cinnamon roll pancakes, blueberry cobbler with ice cream, thick cut bacon... I need to stop myself before I spend another two paragraphs talking about it. We had breakfast with a couple who told us this is their 60th time staying at pettigru, and that is now my personal goal. Oh, and did I mention they leave you plates of chocolate chip cookies in your room? They'll even give you another plate if you finish the first plate. Plus a whole fridge stocked with sodas by the keurig that's hooked up to a water supply so you don't need to fill the water yourself.
I don't know how I got so lucky as to stumble across Pettigru Place, but I don't think I'll be able to come back to Greenville without staying here now. Don't even look at any other options, this is where you want to stay.

My husband and I stayed last night a Pettigru Place. What a lovely B&B! First we were greeted at the door with a big welcoming smile from Susan. After she took us for a tour of the home, she showed us to our room, the Hummingbird room. It's a lovely room, but the best part is it has it's own private balcony. We enjoyed sitting there in the evening.
We had dinner at Sassafras. It was delicious on a beautiful evening to sit outside.
The breakfast at the Pettigru was delicious! They made us cinnamon roll pancakes! Also, the homemade endless chocolate chip cookies are delicious and they even sent us home with some. You will enjoy your stay here!

Staying at Pettigru Place Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful experience. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The chef, Randi prepared professional and delicious breakfasts for us each morning with two breakfast sittings available, and ensured that we received a constant supply of the most delicious cookies in our room each day. Our rooms were kept spotless by Shaye and Suzy was extremely helpful in answering any and all questions we had about the area to enable us to spend each day to the fullest. Complimentary wine and cheese was available each afternoon. Also available.... complimentary coffee, water and soft drinks throughout the day. We were spoiled by these lovely ladies and felt so comfortable and at home.
Pettigru Place was centrally located with a reasonable walk to the downtown area and points of interest. The neighborhood was quiet and we had a lovely balcony and sitting area just outside our room.
We had the pleasure of meeting Lori, the owner, who was extremely friendly and welcoming. My husband and I highly recommend Pettigru Place for a relaxing and very special holiday and we certainly look forward to returning next year.

This is truly a beautiful home and the food is fantastic! I read a review that noted their room was warm, that was NOT the case for us. We stayed in the Green Rabbit while it was in the 90's outside and our room was very cool and incredibly comfortable. Walkable to downtown/Main Street, beautiful gardens, fabulous staff, and breakfast was incredible!!

Pettigru Place B&B is perfect in every way. It’s everything in a Bed & Breakfast you’ve ever wanted … and more. From its quiet location in the historic district, which is a short walk to Downtown Greenville, to the most amazing breakfasts you’ll ever have, it needs to be added to your list! And let’s not forget the cookies!! I have one left that I’m savoring but by bit.
