Our 19th-century Mansion and 24-acre estate is located in Taneytown, Maryland where visitors can enjoy history during a luxurious getaway, take in beautiful gardens, dine at our award winning restaurant, the Smokehouse Restaurant, and experience modern elegance. For those who love history, Gettysburg, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. are within a 20-minute to 1.5 hours drive from Antrim 1844.
Things We Love
Extensive Award-Winning Wine Cellar and Spirits Selection: Antrim 1844 boasts one of the largest restaurant wine collections on the East Coast. Sample a glass from the award-winning cellar of over 17,000 bottles representing over 2,400 selections. You can stop by the hotel's Pickwick Pub open at 2:30 pm each day to enjoy some of the finest scotch, cognacs, bourbons, and whiskeys in the world.
While visiting, guests can dine in The Smokehouse Restaurant which, for over two decades, has maintained its legacy as a culinary fine dining destination. Every evening, the culinary experience begins with cocktails prior to being seated for dinner. Dinner is comprised of a six-course prix fixe menu which changes daily based on the freshest ingredients our Executive Chef, Inti Villalobos-Coady, is able to source.
With over 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, Antrim 1844 is also an ideal venue for executive retreats, meetings, and the most beautiful weddings imaginable.

Welcome
Nestled at the foot of the breathtaking Catoctin Mountains in Central Maryland, this beautiful 24-acre estate is renowned for its superb cuisine and upscale accommodations. Owners Dorothy (Dort) and Richard Mollett have masterfully restored the property to reflect its original splendor of 1844. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, visitors can experience the rich history with touches of modern elegance. Originally opening as a four-room bed and breakfast in 1988, Antrim 1844 has grown to 40 guestrooms and suites by renovating original outbuildings into unique spaces in which guests can retire to. The Carriage House, Barn, Ice House and Cottage are a few of these structures that withstood the test of time. Additionally, Dort and Richard were honored to receive the Maryland Historical Trust “Preservation Project Award” for their work in restoring the historic property.
