The Basics
Barrows House has the ideal combination of historic Vermont charm, and hip, sophisticated style. Built in 1805, it’s been remodeled into a modern destination resort with an award-winning restaurant and tavern, featuring a spacious outdoor patio. Our 27 guest rooms and suites are tucked within the inn and cottages spread across 16 acres of gardens and grounds. Amenities include a saltwater pool, tennis and pickle board courts, and a country breakfast at the Dorset Inn or Bakery each morning. Don’t forget to try our famous dirty dill martini, known and loved by many!

Welcome
Barrows House is the epitome of quintessential historic Vermont charm! We are proud to be one of the first lodging accommodations in Dorset. Today, we offer guests a place of rest and relaxation with the distinct ambiance and character from a bygone area! In 2012, Barrows House was purchased by the owners of the Historic Dorset Inn and was completely renovated before opening in the summer of 2013. The inn's 27 guest rooms, restaurant, and tap room have been modernized and reconfigured to include a new large outdoor dining terrace and a local marble bar.
Today, Barrows House boasts several cottages, a swimming pool, tennis courts and beautiful gardens and grounds, as well as, the finest of accommodations and superb American cuisine!
