Tom Petty, as in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers lived at The Laurel Oak Inn in the late 60s when it was a tenement home

The Laurel Oak Inn is a beautifully restored 1885 Queen Anne Victorian. Our five bedroom bed and breakfast is located in the heart of the Historic Bed and Breakfast District in Gainesville, Florida. We are within walking distance of downtown Gainesville and less than 2 miles from the University of Florida. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway or to sight see your way through history and nature, we are that perfect blend. The Inn offers luscious green landscaping, with several porch areas overlooking the grounds while enjoying the calming sound of waterfalls, fountains and birds chirping. We are surrounded by museums, local theatre, restaurants to please anyones delight and several state parks, to include Tom Petty Park, which is just over a mile away. The Laurel Oak Inn was once the tenement home of our very own Tom Petty of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. If you stay at the Laurel Oak Inn you will be able to say your breakfast was made where Tom Petty slept. We welcome you to enjoy all the many attractions Gainesville has to offer.
