Welcome

Ride up a road to nowhere and find The Waterford Inne, special unto itself. A 19th-century farmhouse which once housed a large family has been renovated and refurbished to offer the warmth of fine furnishings blended with contemporary comforts.

The Waterford Inne, A Maine country inn, opened to receive guests in 1978 and has been operating under the same ownership since that time! Set amidst 25 acres of fields, woods, and rolling terrain the inn and its impressive barn give a hint as to what living here in the Oxford Hills of Western Maine during the 19th century might have been--life far away from the maddening crowd. Arriving guests crest the hill to first glimpse the inn set back from the road. In Maine we have a full array of seasons; in winter we may be surrounded by a mantle of white, summer brings green lawns and flower gardens, in autumn we are framed with colorful foliage. But in any season guests are welcomed to a home of quiet simple elegance. There are several common rooms each comfortably furnished and appointed with an eclectic array of artwork, books, and collections. The guest rooms, each one unique, some whimsical, all are immaculate and comfortable. Guests will ride back down that hill to seek varying activities, but most eagerly return for the specially prepared four course meal to end a perfect and peaceful day.

Food & Wine

The Waterford Inne breakfast menu features hyper-local and seasonal ingredients, as well as our homemade sourdough bread with Maine grown grains. We take pride in our own organic farming operations, from fresh herbs and produce to chicken eggs, and supplement anything we don’t grow ourselves from neighboring organic farms within a ten mile radius.

The menu changes daily, to provide you a variety of gourmet breakfast dishes throughout your stay. You may notice that our antique china plate settings change daily as well!

We offer local charcuterie boards composed of the best maine made cheese and cured meats, as well as homemade bread, crackers and jams. Perfectly paired with artisanal maine ciders, beers, and carefully selected natural wines.

Coming soon… Rustic farm to table dining in a 19th century barn:

We are in the midst of building a commercial kitchen, by next season we will be offering a true farm to table dining experience, featuring organic produce and eggs from our farm, and sourcing dairy and grass fed proteins from our local community of organic farmers.

Our ever changing prix fixe menu reflects what local ingredients are freshest and in season.
