Barrows House has the ideal combination of historic Vermont charm, and hip, sophisticated style. Built in 1805, it’s been remodeled into a modern destination resort with an award-winning restaurant and tavern, featuring a spacious outdoor patio. Our 27 guest rooms and suites are tucked within the inn and cottages spread across 16 acres of gardens and grounds. Amenities include a saltwater pool, tennis and pickle board courts, and a country breakfast at the Dorset Inn or Bakery each morning. Don’t forget to try our famous dirty dill martini, known and loved by many!
Things We Love
We are in the center of a historic and picture postcard-perfect Vermont village. Just steps from the Inn are a historic town green, celebrated summer stock theater, shops, art galleries, and the first golf course established in North America
Outdoor activities abound, including our own tennis and pickleball courts, miles of hiking trails in the National Forest, golfing, swimming in an old marble quarry, and bicycling along miles of country lanes
We have many varied venues for weddings and other celebrations, including a charming gazebo in our gardens, and a quintessential Vermont wedding barn overlooking a pastoral valley. We are experts at creating a romantic and memorable celebration, whether for 2 or for 200
