Dating back to 1790, the inn has an interesting history, with nine updated guest rooms and suites, graciously decorated, all with newly renovated private spa baths. Welcome
The Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod in Brewster, Massachusetts is located in an ideal, walkable New England village location. Built in 1790, it has been a home to a sea captain, a senator, an author, and a painter. It was also a boys' school at one time, and is part of the National Registry of Historic Places. Nine graciously appointed guest rooms with accommodations ranging from a king suite with soaking tub and private patio, to a king suite with private sitting room, to several queen bedrooms - all with private newly renovated baths.
Six of the rooms are in the Inn’s Main House, which dates back to 18th Century, and are decorated in the traditional period style, some have working fireplaces and soaking tubs. The remaining three rooms are in the adjoining Carriage House and are more contemporary, with a Cape Cod and seashore theme. All rooms have premium linens, robes and guest amenities.
A full gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the 1790’s Dining Room or on the lovely garden patio. The menu includes a fresh fruit course and a hot main course accompanied by juices and freshly brewed coffees and teas. Our Brewster Coffee Room provides 24-hour self-service to coffee and tea, as well as afternoon freshly baked treats. And guests are welcomed to enjoy a late afternoon Espresso with their innkeeper hosts. The charming common spaces and beautiful lush gardens of the Inn warmly invite guests to read, relax or simply enjoy the surrounding splendor.
Located on Historic Route 6A (The Old King’s Highway), the Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod is surrounded by shops, galleries, fun and fine dining and is a short stroll to beautiful Breakwater Beach. A quick bike ride to the Cape Cod Rail Trail or Nickerson State Park, or a short scenic drive to the Cape Cod Museums of Natural History and Art are just a few of the many activities that are moments away from the Inn.

At Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod, wake refreshed every morning to a delicious two-course gourmet breakfast consisting of a fresh fruit course followed by a hot main course, made from scratch and served every morning between 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. in our charming 1790’s dining room. Dine by candlelight in the winter months, or on the lovely patio overlooking the fountain and lush gardens during warmer weather.
We pride ourselves on using fresh, simple ingredients, as well as the many herbs and edible flowers we grow ourselves so we can prepare the best meals for our guests. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked breakfast every morning, made by our chef / Innkeepers. Main course choices range from traditional fluffy waffles and apple pancakes, to savory dishes such as light Italian frittata omelets and 3-ingredient egg soufflés. Meals are accompanied by crisp bacon and fresh sausages, home-baked treats and much more. We also provide gourmet coffee, decaf coffee, and tea 24/7 for our guests to enjoy. Whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast or a smaller meal with your coffee or tea, we’re happy to accommodate your needs.

At Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod property, the Main House, dating from the late 1700s, offers wide pine floors and beautiful oriental rugs, colorful walls and trim, working fireplaces, antiques and family heirlooms, with all the comforts and amenities you might expect from a first class inn. The Carriage House contains three rooms. On the first floor is our spacious Garden Suite with a soaking tub, private entrance and patio. Our second floor Carriage House rooms both have king beds with separate entrance, are private, bright and airy, with a deck overlooking the back gardens - perfect for friends or family traveling together! All Candleberry Inn rooms have newly renovated private baths, individual air conditioning, cable television and sitting areas. Some rooms have gas or wood-burning fireplaces, soaking tubs, and refrigerators. All rooms share a guest pantry that offers early morning coffee and tea service, a guest refrigerator, ice, beach towels, umbrellas and chairs, and access to the garden patio, fountain and grounds. A new self-serve ice cream freezer will be available this summer!

- Arrival & Departure Time: Check in time is between 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. Check out time is 11:00 AM.
- Smoking: We are a strictly non-smoking inn. Smoking at the Inn will result in a $250 fee added to your bill.
- Children: Children ages 8 and over are welcome. Regardless of age, if a child is the 3rd guest sharing a room, an additional charge of $35 per day.
- Reservations: Deposits - Reservations booked directly through the Candleberry Inn: A 100% deposit for reservations of 1 or 2 nights will be taken at the time of booking. For stays of 3 or more nights, a 50% deposit is taken with the final payment applied to your credit card 14 days prior to arrival.
- Cancellation Policies: If you cancel your stay we will refund your deposit as long as you give us more than 14 days notice before your arrival date. If you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, we will refund your deposit only if we re-rent your room less a $35 processing fee.

Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod is just 90 minutes outside of Boston and Providence, our nine room Inn offers the ideal location for small corporate offsite retreats and business meetings. The large dining room provides a meeting space for groups of up to 22 people. Our garden patio is adjacent to the dining room, offering additional meeting and dining options. You’re welcome to invite guest speakers, set up white boards and easels, and arrange for almost anything else you need for your business meeting or workshop. And plan fun team-building activities on our two acres of lush lawns. During breaks take a short walk to the beach and to nearby restaurants and bars.
