Champney’s Restaurant & Tavern at the Deerfield Inn is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our house guests and visitors. We were a founding member of the regional locavore movement, and are committed to purchasing as much area produce as possible for our menus. If it’s fresh it tastes better, and if it’s local, we can help keep this part of northwestern Massachusetts known as The Happy Valley verdant and productive for our area farmers.

Our convivial tavern is a gathering place with an 18-seat mahogany bar, fireplace, local draught beers, many wines by the glass, and creative, traditional tavern food, including the best, most juicy burgers in the area. Breakfast and private dining is in the fireplace restaurant.

A brochure from the 30's mentions tables supplied with produce from adjoining farms, fresh every day, and all home cooked. Not much has changed……..! We think that good food, simply prepared, with the minimum of handling and fussing makes for the best cuisine. Keep it fresh, keep it made to order, keep it creative and interesting. We have farmers and foragers who bring produce to our back door, so we might have fiddle heads, peppers, squashes, wild mushrooms, peaches, or plums on any given night to work with to make something absolutely fresh and fabulous.
