What a beautiful property to enjoy some rest and relaxation. We stayed here for a wedding taking place in St. Mary's county but wish we could have stayed for a few more days. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the water. We had to get up very early to leave for my child's lacrosse game and the owner was up to send us off with some muffins and delicious coffee despite breakfast not being served for another two hours. To top it all off, I left my watch and a phone charger in the room and Gerald was kind enough to ship it to me the very next day and refused to accept any payment for it. My wife and I cannot wait to get a chance to return!

We had a wonderful weekend trip at the Swanendele Inn! We stayed in the Margaret Brent Suite. It was fantastic, perfect for a romantic getaway. Gerald was a great host with lots of interesting stories to tell. The decor was amazing -- and it was from all over the world! Breakfast was also very tasty. We will be coming back in the summer. A truly great find, don't hesitate...See More

We spent only a single night here, but our experience was excellent. The entire place is beautiful and the view along the water is amazing. We spent the late evening out on the pier star gazing and watching the water. There are kayaks and canoes if you want, there's a fire pit and plenty of chairs for reading and relaxing by the water. We spent the late evening out on the pier star gazing and watching the water. There are kayaks and canoes if you want, there's a fire pit and plenty of chairs for reading and relaxing by the water. Our room was excellent, but the most engaging part of the visit was the time spent in conversation with the owner--he has lived an amazing life and I can't encourage you enough to engage him and listen to his stories--he and his family have lived history! Breakfast was good and the service friendly. We definitely plan on returning for a stay where we can spend more time.

My husband and I stayed here for our 1st year anniversary and it was wonderful. The property was so peaceful and quiet. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating. Our room was nicely furnished and clean. It also had a balcony which was great. We will definitely be back.
