On a promontory in historic St. Mary’s County, MD, where the Potomac River meets the Chesapeake Bay, Swanendele Inn offers 800 feet of waterfront and stunning views in an eight-room inn luxuriously appointed with artwork and antiques from all over the world. All rooms have fireplaces and fine linens and some have Jacuzzis with private waterfront decks and wet bars. Known for fine cuisine and superb hospitality, Swanendele is in the heart of St. Mary’s County, near Point Lookout and other historic sites, and convenient to Baltimore and greater Washington, DC. The rooms include a three-course breakfast cooked to order. Private dinners are available.

Romantic and elegant Swanendele Inn, located on the western shore of Maryland in historic St. Mary’s County, offers guests luxurious accommodations as well as breathtaking water views of St. Jerome’s Creek and the Chesapeake Bay from each room and wraparound decks. Guest rooms feature a gas fireplace, fine linens, marble and granite bath, ceiling fan, and free WIFI; the suites also have two-person Jacuzzis, wet bars, Keurig coffee/tea station, and private decks. The inn boasts a dock and boatlift, lovely flower gardens, and a private beach with Adirondack chairs. The interior is furnished with antiques and fine artwork gathered during years of worldwide travels by the innkeepers, and each piece has a story. The innkeepers are extremely knowledgeable about local history and culture and provide guests with Southern MD insider information about local restaurants, boat/fishing tours, farm markets, where to obtain the best fresh oysters, and opportunities for history, biking, and hiking tours. Swanendele’ s secret weapon? Chef Miguel! His cuisine has delighted breakfast and dinner guests since the inn opened in 2019. Swanendele Inn is convenient to Washington, DC, Baltimore, and the I-95 corridor.
