The Basics
Set on our historic village green, The Dorset Inn has offered travelers traditional New England hospitality since 1796. We are Vermont’s oldest continually operating inn, priding ourselves on gracious lodging, gourmet dining, fine wines, and great spirits! Many of our guests return yearly for our welcoming atmosphere and quintessential Vermont charm. In the mountain valleys that surround us, you’ll find the famed Dorset Playhouse, art galleries, shopping, skiing, hiking, wild trout streams, and much more.
Things We Love

Every room in the Inn has been uniquely decorated by our owner and Innkeeper, Lauren Bryant. Each is named for a local artist, writer, historic family or natural feature

The inn is filled with historic details, including the exterior design that was modeled after George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. Washington was still president when the inn was built

We are very pet friendly, so bring along your furry friend. We provide a comfy dog bed, locally made organic treats and chew toys . There are also plenty of country lanes and hiking trails adjacent to the inn for leisurely dog walks
