A phenomenal place for a proposal! Stunning views outdoors with beautiful decor inside. Upscale, inviting, with an incredibly friendly, accommodating staff. The breakfast was better than I could have imagined- the potatoes literally melt in your mouth and OJ was fresh squeezed. Before our stay my fiancé informed the staff that he was proposing, so not only was our room immaculate and had a lovely refreshment arrangement…but there was...See More

I highly recommend the Manor for any event you may have! We rented out their space for my sister's bridal shower and were extremely impressed with the renovations/improvements they have done as well as the amazing service. We were able to make the space our own for the day and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Hannah the owner was so great to work with leading up to, as...See More

My wife and I stayed here in the Churchill room which is very traditional yet spacious and very updated, especially the bathroom! So beautiful. Their new event hall is amazing and built for events like weddings, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas parties, and corporate events. I was not aware of Holderness BUT now I know this destination and the added extras.

Our lunch was fabulous! The crab bisque soup was amazing followed by soba noodles with fresh tuna with Herb Provence. To top it off - the best strawberrry shortcake I have ever had! Fresh crème, fresh strawberry's and mint from the garden. Chef Caroline will make The Van Horn Estate (The Manor) a dining destination on Squam!

The menu looked good and I think the chef is good at cooking meals but should maybe focus on those and buy in the bread and croissants rather than trying to house-make everything. The...See More
