The Best New Hampshire Ski Resorts

Like we mentioned above, one of our favorite things to do in the White Mountains in the winter is downhill skiing and/or snowboarding. With impressive peaks covering this part of New Hampshire, there's certainly no shortage of great New Hampshire ski resorts at which to ski, either. Winters in New Hampshire, after all, are defined by snow and skiing.

There are three amazing New Hampshire ski resorts within a short drive of our Select Registry Bed and Breakfasts, too, making the White Mountains a veritable winter playground! The three most popular New Hampshire ski resorts in the White Mountains are Cannon MountainBretton Woodsand Loon Mountain. Other nearby ski resorts include Wildcat Mountain and Attitash Mountain Resort.

  • Cannon Mountain is located near Franconia Notch State Park. It's one of the most popular New Hampshire ski resorts, as it features 11 total lifts, including one 70-passenger Aerial Tramway. Cannon Mountain features the tallest ski summit in New Hampshire and offers skiers an incredible 2,180-foot vertical drop.  It's the longest in the state.
  • Bretton Woods has been rated one of the top New Hampshire ski resorts for several years running. It's the largest of the New Hampshire ski resorts, featuring a variety of trails for all skill levels. There are also two fantastic freestyle terrain parks for snowboarders to enjoy.
  • Loon Mountain is great for skiers of all levels and is known to have one of the best terrain parks in the region (there are six terrain parks here total).  Loon Mountain is also home to the only superpipe of all New Hampshire ski resorts, making it popular with snowboarders.
  • Wildcat Mountain is one of the most beautiful New Hampshire ski resorts and consistently ranks as #1 in the east for mountain scenery. There are 2,100 feet of vertical drop here and a quad chair that will get you to the top and skiing within minutes!
